Checkout Options
Extra ways to steer Cash on Delivery right at checkout, before an order is even placed.
In this guide
Partial COD
Lets a customer pay part of the order online at checkout and the rest in cash on delivery.
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Advance percentage | How much of the order value is collected online upfront |
Shows up as one of the payment options at checkout, alongside Full Payment, Plain COD, and COD with Fee.
For example. Advance percentage is set to 30%. A ₹2,000 order requires a ₹600 payment at checkout, with the remaining ₹1,400 collected as cash on delivery.
COD Fee
Adds a small fixed charge to orders paid by Cash on Delivery.
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Fee amount | Fixed ₹ charge added to COD orders |
Shows as its own line item at checkout, and is tracked separately for delivered vs. returned orders in your reports.
Why it's worth turning on: Even a small fee (₹20–₹50) nudges price-sensitive customers toward the Checkout Banner prepaid offer, while offsetting some cost on the COD orders that go through anyway.
OTP Verification
Requires a customer to verify their WhatsApp number with a one-time code before a COD order is confirmed.
- The code is sent via WhatsApp at checkout.
- The order can't be confirmed until it's verified.
- Your verification rate is tracked per shop, in your reports.
Good to know: Each code sent is a WhatsApp message and counts against your Message Quota, same as a nudge or reminder.
